Teal Pumpkin Project
Throughout the month of October, Lords & Ladies Salons will be raising funds and awareness about the Teal Pumpkin Project®, an annual awareness initiative started in 2014, that aims to provide a safe and fun Halloween for all trick-or-treaters, including the many children affected by food allergies and other dietary restrictions.
According to the FARE website, “One in 13 children in the U.S. has a food allergy, a potentially life-threatening disease that presents many challenges for millions of families across the country.†The limitations imposed on children with food allergies and other dietary restrictions during the Halloween season can make a child feel isolated and left out. The goal of the Teal Pumpkin Project® is to bring a smile to those children’s faces during a time that can otherwise be very difficult for them and their families.
To join Lords & Ladies and participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project®, stop in to any of our seven Lords & Ladies salon locations and make a donation in any amount to FARE. You will receive a flyer with helpful tips for participating in this great cause by offering non-food treats to Trick-or-Treaters this Halloween.
On Halloween, proudly display a Teal Pumpkin (you can find really nice ones at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, and Homegoods) in front of your home to let trick-or-treaters know you have non-food treats available. Check out Wal-Mart, The Dollar Tree, Target, or even Oriental Trading for inexpensive non-food treats such as novelty pencils, erasers, temporary tattoos, stickers, finger puppets and more!
On Halloween, stop in to any Lords & Ladies location and your Trick-or-Treater will receive a Fall Fun coloring book and crayons! (while supplies last.)
Thanks in advance for your support!
