Teal Pumpkin Project
Throughout the month of October, Lords & Ladies Salons will be raising funds and awareness about the Teal Pumpkin Project®, an annual awareness initiative started in 2014, that aims to provide a safe and fun Halloween for all trick-or-treaters, including the many children affected by food allergies and other dietary restrictions.
According to the FARE website, “One in 13 children in the U.S. has a food allergy, a potentially life-threatening disease that presents many challenges for millions of families across the country.” The limitations imposed on children with food allergies and other dietary restrictions during the Halloween season can make a child feel isolated and left out. The goal of the Teal Pumpkin Project® is to bring a smile to those children’s faces during a time that can otherwise be very difficult for them and their families.
To join Lords & Ladies and participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project®, stop in to any of our seven Lords & Ladies salon locations and make a donation in any amount to FARE. You will receive a flyer with helpful tips for participating in this great cause by offering non-food treats to Trick-or-Treaters this Halloween.
On Halloween, proudly display a Teal Pumpkin (you can find really nice ones at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, and Homegoods) in front of your home to let trick-or-treaters know you have non-food treats available. Check out Wal-Mart, The Dollar Tree, Target, or even Oriental Trading for inexpensive non-food treats such as novelty pencils, erasers, temporary tattoos, stickers, finger puppets and more!
On Halloween, stop in to any Lords & Ladies location and your Trick-or-Treater will receive a Fall Fun coloring book and crayons! (while supplies last.)
Thanks in advance for your support!
