Know What to Look for in a Nail Salon

Nail Salons in Reading, PAIt's going to take a little research for you to find the perfect nail salon for you. You want to ensure that where you are going is reputable and high-quality before you spend your hard-earned money. So, here are our expert tips to know what to look for in a nail salon:

  1. Sanitary environment. Salons see tons of customers every day. The same equipment is used on each of these clients. Making sure the equipment is constantly and consistently cleaned between each use is imperative. You certainly don't want to obtain an unwanted bonus, like a fungal or bacterial infection, after visiting the salon of your choice. So, before you get anything done, take a look around, watch the nail techs to make sure they are throwing away disposable items and using a disinfectant to clean everything else.
  2. Ventilation. Nail polish and all the chemicals that go along with getting your nails done generally contain some pretty harsh odors. Of course, you are going to smell some of these things, but you want to choose a salon that has a great ventilation system so that you are not inhaling toxic chemicals the whole time you are getting your nails and toes done.
  3. Available services. Just about any nail salon will provide you with a basic manicure and pedicure. However, if you are looking for some more upscale options, like those offered at Lords & Ladies, you need to do your research. The better salons will offer you paraffin treatments, acrylics, gel nails, and provide you with high quality polish options.
  4. Pricing. We all understand that pricing is a big deal. Keep in mind, though, that you get what you pay for. Some salons will give you a set price for all services whereas others price things individually. Make sure you know what you are getting done based on the price you have been quoted.
  5. Nail Technician education. This job is more than just painting your nails. Good nail technicians can explain to you exactly what some of the more modern nail treatments include and how you will need to take care of them after you leave the shop.
