What You Need to Know about Hair Care Products

Hair care aisles in your average drug store can be home to more than 600 products. The sea of products is enough to overwhelm you. And though you would think all of those options would make us love our hair all the more, the reality is that 89 percent of people don't like their hair. Having all those choices is making us less satisfied and all the more confused.

So, here's what you need to know about hair care products:

  • Fine and straight hair benefits from products that will add volume without weighing down your already limp locks. Try a thickening shampoo and conditioner. Use the conditioner on the very ends and make sure you rinse it out thoroughly. When it's time to style your hair, consider combing in some mousse and don't forego the dry shampoo as it will add bulk and texture.
  • Straight, thick hair will see the greatest improvements when you add styling oil to your regular routine. Because your hair is thick, you can enjoy a texture that enables you to wear just about any style. A little styling cream can go a long way too. Start at the back of your head moving forward to ensure that you don't weigh down your bangs. Finish the look off with a shine spray to rid yourself of that dull look your bulky hair tends to have.
  • Tight and kinky curls require some serious attention. Deep conditioners are highly advisable, but don't rinse them all the way out. Having a little residue can add smoothness and shine to your curls. Just make sure to comb in a leave-in conditioner as well. Styling oil or silicone serums can help you achieve the curls your desire, but once you have them in place, keep your hands off.
  • Wavy hair generates a good deal of frizz. Opt for shampoo and conditioning products specifically formulated to fight that frizz. Then, when you are ready to style, use the lighter, natural oil-based products. These can smooth your waves without knocking them out. You can also apply salt sprays, rather than creams or gels, to ensure that your waves reach their optimum potential.

Understanding your hair is key to choosing the best hair care products. Those available at Lords & Ladies Salon and Medical Spa are made from exceptional ingredients and will keep your hair healthy. To learn more about these products, visit our online store or give us a call at (844) 725 6655.
