Microneedling – A Beginner’s Guide
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that firms, smooths, and evens out your skin, making it look younger, plumper, and better.
How Does It Do That?
The procedure involves pricking the skin with a pen-shaped or rolling tool containing tiny, sterilized needles. This device creates surface-level deep skin cuts or microchannels.
These microchannels trick your body into thinking they’re real wounds, stimulating your immune system to increase blood flow and produce collagen and elastin. This helps rejuvenate your skin from the inside out while minimizing cellular damage.
How Does It Help Your Skin?
Microneedling can improve your complexion, skin structure, and skin strength by targeting and treating various skin issues. It works on many things, from acne and other types of scars, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and other signs of sun damage, and reduced skin elasticity. It also shows impressive results on all skin types.
However, microneedling is not effective in treating keloid or raised scars.
Is It Safe?
Yes, if you’re in good health, microneedling is a safe procedure. However, if you’re pregnant, have active acne, or are on medication for bleeding or blood clotting conditions, we recommend consulting your dermatologist first. Get their expert advice on the matter before going through with the treatment.
When Can You See Results From the Procedure?
You may notice some signs of improvements in your skin within a week from the procedure, but more dramatic results may take 4-6 weeks to appear as that is the time it takes for your body’s collagen cycle to kick in.
Does it Hurt?
That depends on several factors, including your pain tolerance.
An hour before the procedure, your dermatologist or aesthetician will apply a generous dose of topical numbing cream to the treatment area, reducing the likelihood of pain or discomfort.
However, in the end, some of you might experience slight discomfort or pain because the process does involve pricking. But either way, it is not severe enough to cause you any significant distress.
What’s So Special About the Lords & Ladies Salon and Medical Spa?
We at the Lords & Ladies Salon and Medical Spa are a customer-centric business that strives to offer our clients premium salon and spa experiences. We’re dedicated to making you look and feel your best. Along those lines, we’ve combined microneedling, one of our most popular clinical services, with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), also known as a vampire facial.
This treatment uses your stem cells and growth factors to benefit your skin and give it the ability to heal damaged tissues, allowing us to provide better outcomes and faster healing.
This result-oriented approach to microneedling also works very well with home care products, so you can expect to benefit from the treatment’s corrective and rejuvenating effects for a long time.
